A Locomotive Worksplate "L.M.S, BUILT CREWE 1930", from a LMS Class 4 "Crab" 2-6-0, LMS No 13161, which was renumbered 2861 in 1934 and became BR No 42861. A long time Wakefield engine, it moved late on to the Scottish Region, first at Hurlford and then Ayr from where it was withdrawn in July 1966. After a period in store at Ayr, it was cut up at Arnott Young, West of Scotland Shipbreaking Co, Troon between February and October 1967. Brass oval, 10_" x 6", a little wasting at right hole but good ex loco condition with "2861" on back. Paperwork from BR(Sc) in 1967 listing this and other plates for sale accompanies this lot.
