Lot 39 A WORKSPLATE RENUMBERING STRIP "62730" from the LNER D49/1 Class 4-4-0 "BERKSHIRE" built at Darlington Works in March 1929, LNER 2755, renumbered 2730 in 1946, becoming BR 62730. In BR days it was allocated to Carlisle (Canal), Starbeck, York and finally Selby from where it was withdrawn in December 1958. It was cut up the following May at Darlington Works. Berkshire was an unusual choice of name as the LNER owned no tracks in the county. Ex loco condition, left bolt hole enlarged, right end broken away.
