Auction Catalogue: Great Central Railwayana, 20 January 2007
| Lot 487 |
An LNER Locomotive Tenderplate "6180", a tender with this number was attached to the Great Central Railway Q4 Class 0-8-0 No 6180 when built at Gorton in 1911 but it would have carried a fully titled cast iron tenderplate. The locomotive was renumbered 3243 in 1946 when a standard LNER pattern 9"x5" cast iron tenderplate was fitted and became BR 63243, being withdrawn in October 1951. It is believed therefore that this plate was carried sometime between the demise of the GCR in 1923 and the LNER 1946 renumbering. Cast brass oval, 5_"x3", ex loco condition.
