A Makers Plate "SUPER-SENTINEL STEAM WAGON MAKERS, THE SENTINEL WAGON WORKS LIMITED, SHREWSBURY, IN ALL CORRESPONDENCE MENTION WAGON No 7969", from a Sentinel type DG6 steam road wagon, a double geared 6-wheeler fitted with a side tipping body. It was first registered in July 1929 as OU 3026 when sold new to Fred Dyke of Fareham, Hampshire, his fleet No 16. Dyke was a contractor who operated a number of Sentinel wagons over the years and no subsequent owners are recorded. Cast brass featuring a knight in armour in the centre with the warning "EVER WATCHFUL, ON THE ALERT", 5_"x9_", the front cleaned, the back untouched.
