| Lot 77 | A Mashonaland Railway smokebox roundel "MR" as attached from 1910 up to about the late 1930s. Probably from a 12th Class 4-8-2 but other classes may possibly have had these. The MR was a railway financed separately from the Rhodesian Railways although operational control was vested in the RR which took over complete control in 1937, although not formally merged until 1949. Cast brass 11" diameter, the front polished and repainted red, the back untouched other than being marked "R98.80". |
