| Lot 88 | A locomotive Worksplate "BUILT BY SIR W.G.ARMSTRONG WHITWORTH & Co LTD, SCOTSWOOD WORKS, NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE, No.439-1921", from a Midland Railway 3835 Class, LMS Class 4F, 0-6-0, MR/LMS No 3960, becoming BR 43960. A long time Skipton engine, it was withdrawn from there in November 1964 and, after five months in store at its home shed, cut up at Wards, Killamarsh the following April. Cast brass 57/8x4", the front cleaned and repainted, the back untouched. |
