| Lot 2 | A cast iron Coach Plate, "SHROPSHIRE AND MONTGOMERYSHIRE RLY, SHREWSBURY", removed from one of the company's six wheel brake thirds scrapped in 1952. Rectangular, 10"x6", with original silver grey on blue paintwork, the back also untouched. Passenger services on the railway ceased on 6th November 1933. The plate is accompanied by a letter from the original owner describing his removal of the plate from the coach which also includes notes on the method of scrapping of the S&MR stock that he witnessed. |
