| Lot 40 | A Great Western Railway silver-plated Cake Stand "GWR REFRESHMENT DEPARTMENT", an early example displaying the company's 2" diameter belted garter at the top centre which incorporates the wording and surrounds the company's decorative monogram. The stand is 7" high, 11_" diameter, with a central collared pillar and heavy base. It is in excellent usable condition with minimal wear to the plating on the top and a clear engraving. |
