Lot 43 A Great Western Railway brass Cabside Numberplate "1434", from a GWR 0-4-2T built at Swindon in July 1934, originally 4800 Class No 4834, but renumbered as 1400 Class No 1434 in November 1946. It was allocated new to Penmaenpool where it remained until transferred to Machynlleth late in 1947. It soon returned to Penmaenpool and later moved to Croes Newydd, Laira and finally Exeter from where it was withdrawn in July 1962 to be cut up two months later at Cashmores, Newport. The front repainted to a high standard, the back untouched. The plate is accompanied by photographs of the locomotive and its Great Western Society history sheet.
