Auction Catalogue: Great Central Railwayana, 12 July 2008
| Lot 58 |
A Caledonian Railway enamel Signal Box Nameboard, "FORTH BRIDGE", from The Larbert to Alloa route. The signal box and bridge were situated between Throsk and Longcarse Junction (where the line connected with the North British Railway). Passenger services were withdrawn on 28th April 1966, with freight traffic continuing until 1970. Some chip repairs have been expertly undertaken, namely between the two words and affecting the two letters each side and corner chips, making a very presentable example and of course a classic name.
