Lot 14 A Railway Letter Cancellation Stamp "SLINFOLD STATION, LB&SCRy", from the company's Brighton to Guildford route, situated just north west of Christ's Hospital. The station and line closed on 14th June 1965. These examples were originally issued by the Post Office for the cancellation of Railway Letter Stamps and have an oval brass head, 1_"x1", with a turned wooden handle, overall 3_" high. (The image shown in the catalogue has been reversed to show the wording as it would appear when used).
 This lot sold for £240
