Lot 23 A large Locomotive Worksplate "BUILT BY THE BIRMINGHAM RAILWAY CARRIAGE & WAGON Co LTD, SMETHWICK, ENGLAND, 1958, SERIAL No DEL 45", from a BR Type 2 Class 26 Bo-Bo No 5300, the first of the Class, allocated new to Hornsey in July 1958. It was renumbered 26007 in April 1974 (the BR TOPS renumbering never used "000" numbers) and withdrawn from Inverness in May 1995. It was sold to MC Processors, Glasgow who sold it privately for preservation in about May 1997 and in May 1999 it was moved to Barrow Hill Roundhouse Museum for restoration. Cast brass rectangle, 8"x5_", ex loco condition.
