| Lot 235 | A Locomotive Worksplate "GREAT CENTRAL RLY, BUILDERS, 1911, GORTON WORKS", from either (1) a GCR Class 9N 4-6-2T which became LNER A5 Class Nos 5023/4, 5165-70 and 5447/ and were renumbered 9800-8 in 1946, becoming BR 69800-8 or (2) a GCR Class 8A 0-8-0 which became LNER Q4 Class Nos 6180-82, of which only 6180 survived to be renumbered 3243 in 1946. Cast brass oval, 97/8"x5_", the front cleaned and repainted, the back untouched. |
