A BR(E), dark blue Totem Sign "APPLEBY", (f/f), from the Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway's route to Grimsby and Cleethorpes and situated between Barnetby and Scunthorpe. The station, which was situated in open country at the point where the Roman road "Ermine Street" crosses the line, closed on 5th June 1967. Excellent colour and shine, though a few edge chips into the blue and face chip away from the letters. A scarce example offered only once before at auction.
