A North Eastern Railway Leather Cash Bag with an engraved oval brass plate "N.E.R, WESTGATE-IN-WEARDALE", from the company's Darlington to Wearhead branch which closed to passengers on 29th June 1953. Freight traffic lasted to Westgate until 1968, after which the line was cut back to Eastgate Cement Works, this plant ensuring the eastern part of the line survived.
