| Lot 64 | A Smokebox Numberplate "48122" from a LMS Class 8F 2-8-0 No 8122 built at Crewe in 1939. At the end of its LMS days it was allocated to Staveley but spent most of its BR years at Willesden before moving to Northampton, then Rugby and finally Croes Newydd from where it was withdrawn in February 1967 and, after six months in store there, cut up at Drapers, Hull the following August. The numbers have been repainted but the plate is otherwise in its original condition. |
