| Lot 81 | An enamel Advertising Sign "WATSONS MATCHLESS CLEANSER, IS THE BEST SOAP FOR ALL PURPOSES", an unusual shaped plate which originally formed the back panel of a chair in a grocer's shop. It measures 11" wide at the base and 14" at the top, 14" deep and is slightly curved in profile. The lettering is white on blue, with the manufacturer's name and product in reverse colours. A few minor face chips and a little edge chipping, otherwise a fine example. |
