A Great Northern Railway brass seal "G.N.R, NOTTINGHAM, (T.O)", the engraved oval head 1_"x7/8", with a turned wooden black handle, overall 3_" high. The "T.O" stood for Town Office. The provision of a booking office away from the station was not uncommon in this period in larger places such as Nottingham.
