A locomotive worksplate "AMERICAN LOCOMOTIVE COMPANY, 53447, ROGERS WORKS, MAR 1913", from a 3ft gauge 2-8-2 built for the Oahu Railway & Land Co, Hawaii, USA, their No 36. In 1950-51 it was sold to the Salvador Railway in El Salvador retaining the same running number. Rogers were locomotive builders absorbed into the American Locomotive Co in 1905 and thereafter the Rogers Works built only smaller engines until their obsolete plant was rationalised and then closed in 1913. Cast brass rectangle, with slightly curved ends, 13 3/4"x7 1/2", designed to fit the smokebox side, the plate lightly cleaned but not repainted.
