Great Central Railwayana Auction Sale 276, Auction Lot 36
Lot 36 A nameplate, ALWILDA, cast brass, 30½" long, the front repainted, together with its matching worksplate, PECKETT 798, 1899, engraved brass, 10¾"x7¼", from a Peckett Class M4 0-4-0ST new to S. Pearson & Son, Contractors, for construction of the Banbury & Lockwood reservoirs, Walthamstow. By March 1901 it was at Wouldham Cement Co, Grays, Essex which became part of British Portland Cement Manufacturers in 1911, their No 7. Sold for scrap to W. Rice of Slades Green, Kent in about July 1961. (2) £800-1200
