Bidding Instructions & Sale Guidelines
Bidding By Telephone
We have four separate telephone lines, so you should encounter no problems in contacting us. When phoning, we will ask you for your name & bidding number (shown on the front cover of this catalogue). If you have not been allocated a bidding number you may register when you phone. You may submit a bid on any lot & if you wish a higher maximum figure, (all bids will be executed as cheaply as possible subject to other bidding) as stated there are no reserves on any lots. You may phone at any time to check the progress of bidding, on any lots & increase your bids if necessary & if you so wish.
FINAL HALF HOUR of selling time: please be as brief as possible during the final half hour for each block.
Bidding By Post

Condition Of Items & Catalogue Descriptions
We have attempted to describe the lots in this catalogue as accurately as possible, you can expect that all items are in good undamaged condition, unless otherwise stated, however by definition most Railwayana has been in constant use for many years & can show signs of wear, from it’s time in Railway ownership & subsequent rescue. If you require further information on any item, please phone, we can then give you a full description, with a particular lot in front of us.
Refund Policy
As outlined above, every effort has been taken to describe lots as fully as possible, & provision made for further enquiry, however should you purchase a lot & find on receipt that the condition fails to meet your expectations, we will be happy to provide a full refund without question.
Catalogue Abbreviations & Notes

Hardbacks with laminated cover are indicated "lam".
In some cases the abbreviations "h/b" = hardback and "d/j" = dust jacket are used to indicate any defect.

Checking Your Bids & Payment Of Lots
You may phone to check on the success of your bids after midday on the day following the Auction. However, successful bidders will be invoiced & asked to choose the method of delivery, i.e. post, courier, collection by arrangement or delivery to a Railwayana event.
Faults On Telephone Lines
In the event of temporary loss of telephone facilities on a selling night, the night affected will be moved to the first free weekday night with the same times and blocks, i.e. if a Wednesday night is lost, it will move to Friday, the Thursday second half remaining the same. If Wednesday and Thursday are lost, they will move to Friday and Monday, etc.
